“Lightweight, effective but eyes beware!”
I’ve been using the La Roche-Posay Anthelios Ultra-Fluid Face SPF 50 for about a month now, and for the most part, I love it. The formula is extremely light, it glides on effortlessly, absorbs quickly, and doesn’t leave that heavy, greasy feel I’ve experienced with so many other sunscreens. Over the course of the day, it sits beautifully under my foundation without pilling.
My dry cheeks always tend to get a bit tight by late afternoon, but with this SPF, they stay comfortable, I don’t feel the need to re-moisturize. I also appreciate that there’s virtually no white cast or unwanted sheen on my skin.
That said and this is a personal caveat when it migrates close to my eyes (especially if I’m sweating), it stings quite badly. I’ve learned to be extra careful applying around that area. Also, the 50 mL size feels a bit small if you use the recommended amount daily, so I’ll probably end up repurchasing often.
Overall: a high-performance, elegant facial SPF. I would give it 4/5, loses one star just because of the eye sensitivity issue (for me). But if you’re careful with your application and have normal or dry skin, I do think it’s a strong contender for daily use.
